The Lions of GRAND KRU and The Mighty Warriors of NIMBA will meet in the Finals

A historical evening for all, as teams battle in the semifinal to get a chance to compete at Liberia’s National County meet on Sunday, January 26, 2020.

Two teams left victorious. LOFA COUNTY got a reminder from the lions of GRAND KRU that their roar is just as powerful as their bite, as GRAND KRU got the best of LOFA by a final score of 2 -1.

The warriors of NIMBA showed showed their offense is just as sharp and potent as their defense, as they defeated MARYLAND by a final score of 1 – 0.

A long road to the semifinals, as many teams looked toward their fans for support, as the Lofa team had many.

Earlier in the day, Mayor Jefferson T. Koijee, Mayor of Monrovia, at a motivation breakfast, encouraged the Lofa’s team as they prepare ahead for their semifinal game Grand Kru’s team.

Maurice Gayflor aka CIC

MAURICE GAYFLOR a.k.a CIC, a well-known music icon in Liberia and the Brand Ambassador of Lonestar Cell MTN, said after the game, “We play to win another day … What we ( Lofa) did achieve this year will forever be remembered in his country’s history. See how we all put our brands, and tags aside and together we brought life to a tournament that many wasn’t interested in for years. To the support staff, the team, and most especially Mayor Jefferson Koijee, who I saw spending every dime from his pocket to make all this happen, we didn’t lose but WON what most people won’t see …. We fought a great fight now we head back to Wologisi and prepare for next year. And my recommendation to every Liberian will be to pick a local side, and support. Let’s better our local league.”
